Exploring Dimensions: New 3D Illustrations

In my continuing exploration of 3D art and digital sculpture, I've been experimenting with different techniques and approaches. Each piece represents a unique challenge and perspective on how we can manipulate digital space to create meaning and emotion.

Pixel Fuck: Typography in Space

Typography takes on a new dimension when each letter is constructed from cubic pixels floating in space. The text becomes both message and sculpture, challenging our perception of how words occupy space. Each voxel catches light differently, creating an interplay between readability and abstract form. The result is a statement piece that exists somewhere between readable text and pure geometric abstraction.

Ze Dragon: Digital Creature in Cubes

Building on the cubic aesthetic, this piece transforms the traditional image of a dragon into a modern, digitally-native creature. Each scale and curve is represented through carefully placed voxels, creating a being that feels both ancient and contemporary. The angular nature of the forms creates interesting shadows and highlights, giving the dragon a sense of movement despite its rigid construction.

Raising Stakes to Feel Something: Suspended Reality

This piece began as a sketch in my notebook - a simple idea about tension and suspension. In its 3D incarnation, text hangs precariously from thin wires, each letter balanced between falling and floating. I've included the original sketch alongside the final piece, showing the journey from concept to execution. The contrast between the weight of the words and the delicacy of their support creates a metaphor for emotional vulnerabilities.

Sans Elegance: Generic Beauty

Taking inspiration from generic brand packaging, this series plays with the minimalist aesthetic of store-brand products. The 3D rendered cans and boxes stack and interact in ways that elevate their mundane origins into something more sculptural. It's a meditation on how simplicity in design can transcend its commercial origins to become something approaching pure form.

In The Woods: Purple Abstraction

Moving away from recognizable forms, this piece plunges into pure abstraction. Set in a purple-tinted forest, geometric shapes emerge like strange growths or alien artifacts. The purple palette creates a dreamlike atmosphere, while the abstract forms challenge viewers to find their own meaning in the shapes. It's an exercise in creating environment as much as objects.

Titmouse Animation Poster: 5 Seconds of Whimsy

The final piece in this collection takes a different direction - a movie poster for a 5-second animation created for Titmouse. The challenge here was to capture the essence of a brief moment in a single image. The poster embraces whimsy and playfulness, using 3D elements to create a sense of motion and energy that hints at the animation's content

Each of these pieces represents a different facet of what's possible in the 3D space. From rigid voxels to flowing forms, from commercial inspiration to pure abstraction, they each push the boundaries of their respective techniques while maintaining a cohesive thread of exploration and experimentation.

The process of creating these pieces has been as much about technical discovery as artistic expression. Each new technique learned has informed the next piece, creating a natural progression of skills and ideas. As I continue to explore these digital spaces, I look forward to pushing these boundaries even further.
