Sketchbook 22- Digital Sketches Collection

A collection of recent digital works, ranging from quick airport sketches to more involved pieces. As always, I'm sharing these in their raw form - both the ones I'm proud of and the ones I'm unsure about. Art is a journey, and sometimes the best way to grow is to put our work out there, imperfections and all.

Workplace Portrait

Starting with a self-portrait at my workspace - a reflection of modern life surrounded by screens. This piece captures those moments of digital immersion we've all become so familiar with.

Airport Series: Exploring New Brushes

During a recent airport stint, I experimented with new brushes in Adobe Fresco, resulting in seven different portraits. Each one represents not just the subject, but also my exploration of the tool's capabilities. The waiting time in airports can be surprisingly productive for artistic experimentation.

Cloud Studies with Characters

Two character studies set against digital clouds. These pieces emerged from combining figure work with atmospheric elements, creating a dialogue between the subjects and their ethereal surroundings.

Live Drawing Session

A piece from a recent live drawing session, capturing the immediacy and energy that comes with working from a live model. These sessions always push me to work faster and more decisively.

"Pride" - A Study in Memory and Water

This nude study, created from memory using digital watercolor techniques, is part of an ongoing exploration. I've titled it "Pride" - though I'm still grappling with its execution. There's something both painful and necessary about sharing work we're uncertain about. It might be the second piece in a series, though its connection to the first "Pride" is still evolving in my mind.

A note on sharing: Without external oversight or critique, it's challenging to gauge the quality of one's work. By sharing these pieces - especially the ones I'm unsure about - I'm hoping to maintain accountability in my artistic practice and perhaps start a dialogue about the creative process.
