Inktober 2016: An Accidental Love Story in Ink
The Birth of Tyler Durden's Cousin
Day 1 kicked off with a random dude puffing on a hand-rolled cigarette. Was he emerging from a textured void or was he Tyler Durden's long-lost cousin, waiting to hijack my Inktober? Only the ink knows.
A Dance of Light and Shadow
Lovers in monochrome grace day 2. He's all shadowy angst, she's basking in the light. It's like a yin-yang of relationship goals, if relationship goals were sketched by a caffeinated insomniac.
The Black Hole of Love
Day 3 brings us two lovers cradling a Vantablack sphere. Plot twist: this void is actually the light source. Because nothing says romance like defying the laws of physics, right?
Gravity is Overrated
By day 4, we're in full magical realism mode. Girl chillin' in the grass, guy casually defying gravity. 6lack's "Since I Have a Lover" video later stole my thunder, but hey, great minds and all that.

The Thread That Binds
Day 5 gets metaphorical. She claims they're connected by a mere thread, but the tangle of lines suspending her in space tells a different story. Subtlety? Never heard of her.
Expectations vs. Reality
The Daily Masquerade
By day 8, we're deep in existential territory. Our protagonist dons a skin-suit to face the world. Because sometimes, being yourself is overrated.
Dance Till You Melt
Day 9 brings perpetual motion. Our dancer grooves so hard their legs melt into the floor. It's either a metaphor for perseverance or a cautionary tale about overenthusiastic dancing.
Breaking Free (Literally)
On day 10, a man tries to bust out of a concrete/glass box. Is it society's constraints or just really bad interior decorating? You decide.
The Great Escape
Day 11 gets surreal. Half a body attempts to peace out from itself. It's either a visual representation of dissociation or a really intense yoga pose.
Morning After Shenanigans
By day 12, we're deep in hangover territory. Toothbrush in hand, our hero faces hypnotic visuals and a mysterious reflection. Pro tip: This is why you don't mix tequila and interdimensional travel.

The Pit of Dread
Lucky day 13 brings stomach-churning anticipation. Not the "bad sushi" kind, but the "impending doom" flavor. Yum.

Existential Awe
Day 14 hits us with perspective. Our tiny human stands on a mountain's finger, grappling with the vastness of existence. Or maybe he's just really into rock climbing.

Desert of the Real
By day 15, we're in full-on "Lost" mode. Our hero wanders a desert dotted with ruined statues, seeking meaning on the horizon. Spoiler: The meaning is probably back where he started.
Reaching for the Stars (or Faces)
Reflections in Liquid Mirror
"The warmth, makes me melt in me" ~ Anonymous (or maybe just me at 3 AM)
Day 17 brings us to peak surrealism. Picture this: a person slowly sinking into a super reflective sheet, like a mirror decided to go all Salvador Dali on us. Is it a metaphor for self-reflection taken too far? A commentary on the liquidity of identity? Or just what happens when you fall asleep on a really, really shiny floor? Whatever it is, it's melting my brain as much as the subject is melting into the mirror.
Unraveling the Self
On day 18, a two-headed ribbon being unwinds itself. It's either a metaphor for self-discovery or a really avant-garde way to use leftover gift wrap.

The Unseen Female Experience
The Dark Flame
Not Long Enough
Our journey ends on day 21 with hands that can never quite reach far enough. Is it about the relationship? Inktober itself? The futile pursuit of the perfect taco? The world may never know.

The Unseen and the Unshared
Day 22 Some illustrations didn't make the cut. Maybe they're too personal, too raw, or just feature really badly drawn hands (we've all been there). They might surface one day, or remain forever in the vault of "art too weird for the internet."
As I look back on this ink-stained journey, one thing becomes clear: there's no such thing as "just art." Every line, every shadow, every weird floating dude tells a story. Sometimes, we see more than what's there. Other times, what's there is more than we can comprehend.
So here's to Inktober 2016 – a month of accidental storytelling, unintentional soul-bearing, and proof that even when you start with no plan, your subconscious has a way of creating a masterpiece.
Stay weird, stay inky, and remember – if your art doesn't make at least one person uncomfortable, are you even doing it right?
let me know what you think on X or insta.

P.S. If you figured out what the heck was going on in all of these, please let me know. I'm still confused, and I drew them.
