FX hash, NFTs designed for the blockchain, not just jpegs or mp4s.

Throughout this post, you will see variations of the same artwork. And each of these unique variations can be collected.

You are living under a rock if you have not heard of NFTs. But you might not be the only one who does not completely understand it. I will summarize it below, but you can find a detailed post here.

NFTs are a non-fungible token is a non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a blockchain, a form of digital ledger. These ledgers can cover Digital assets such as photos, videos, and audio.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN IT CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED. It allows you to have proof of ownership on the blockchain. Why is this a revolution in the digital art world?
We are aware of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. That artwork gets traded in millions of dollars, but Da Vinci or his bloodline does not profit from these transactions. NFTs allow you to keep a permanent record on the blockchain. This allows the artists(owner of the contract), to set rules for their artworks. (e.g you can set royalties every time an artwork gets traded. or even write complicated conditions to own certain tokens)

NFTs have given artists hope of living and pursuing their artistic calling. This has resulted in a flood of artworks being minted on the blockchain. Trading these artworks has also proved to be a lucrative business.

Upcoming problems.

  1. Unfortunately, these images need space on the blockchain and result in an increase in the gas fee. (the fee to maintain ledgers on the blockchain). Several start-ups may stop hosting this storage, which will lead to empty URLs.

  1. Ethereum, which is the most common crypto used to trade these artworks, is not eco-friendly. Memo Atkin has compiled an elaborate article outlining the Unreasonable Ecological Cost of #CryptoArt.

Simply put, Ethereum is not an eco-friendly way for crypto art. USE TEZOS INSTEAD !!!!
A lot of this art is trash! If you have read the article above you know why that is a bad thing. The saddest thing right now is that the most valuable CryptoArt right now are not actual artworks but a bunch of ugly apes and pixellated images of punks. This has incentivized good artists to make ugly collectibles. AS A COLLECTOR PLEASE HAVE STANDARDS. Invest in the artist.

Fxhash does not tokenize an image or video, it tokenizes a piece of code. (You can tokenize pixel data, but that will kill the charm).

These lines of code are lighter for storage and they create unique designs based on the unique token.

As described on their website - fxhash is an open platform where artists can mint Generative Tokens which are stored on the Tezos blockchain. Generative Tokens are programs designed to produce random outputs. Once a Generative Token is enabled (when the artist decides it), anyone with a tezos wallet can mint its own unique iteration of the Generative Token. Each iteration produces a unique piece that is stored as a NFT on the tezos blockchain. The NFT are FA2 compliant, which means that they can be exchanged like any other NFT.

It is inspired by the art of Marbling. As every print is unique, The generative token on FxHash also will create 98 unique prints.

I find Marbling a very elegant method of pattern making. This video explains it the best.
A decade ago when I saw this video, I wanted to try marbling myself. but I didn’t that the resources to try it. ‘Curves to marble’ tries to replicate these patterns.

Like in the 3 Artworks below are iterations of the same artwork. And each of these designs is unique and can be collected. So though you have the same artwork you will be owning a unique design.

Connect your tezos wallet, and you can choose a variation of the artwork that you like the most, and keep that unique variation in your collection.
