Returning to my warmup routine feels like greeting an old friend. Today's figure study features model

Art Inspirations

My recent piece draws from Roberto Ferri's "Prison Tears" - a study in emotion and shadow. Working on these classical interpretations always sparks the idea of a zodiac series. Speaking as a Capricorn, the goat imagery calls to me, but that's a project for another day.

Every time I make illustrations like this, I'm tempted to make a zodiac series. Maybe someday I will., but for now, I'm a goat.

Cinema & Sketches

Wong Kar-wai's "In the Mood for Love" provided rich visual inspiration. The film's tension and unspoken emotions translated beautifully to paper. Another illustration emerged during a different movie session (my complete film ratings are available  here for the curious cinephile).

And the random illustration I made while watching some other movie.

Pandemic Reflections

A note to my future self: these pieces emerged during COVID-19. The isolation manifested in unexpected ways - my failed attempts at regular yoga practice led me down a rabbit hole of Instagram yoga profiles instead of actual practice.

Body Studies

Daily anatomy explorations continue. Recent works focus on comfortable poses, embodying the phrase "touch me plenty." One piece particularly captures my feelings about relationships - vulnerable yet guarded.

My failed attempts to yoga regularly have only led to me looking at other yoga Insta profiles.

Technique Exploration

The latest series experiments with white-on-black technique, inverting my usual approach to negative space. The contrast creates a different kind of intimacy with the subject matter.

Each piece is a snapshot of time, emotion, and technical exploration - a visual diary of this peculiar period.
